Dear Parents,

It's hard to believe, but this is my 5th year teaching at Brielle Elementary School.  Time flies when you're having fun!  I am so excited to be teaching your child and I hope that fourth grade will be a pleasant and productive year! 

As a partner in your child's education please...

Stay-Tuned: Ask your child what he or she is working on and please check the take-home folder and agenda every night.  The take-home folder is where you will find important notices and the agenda is where your child will record their homework assignments.  I will be in contact with you if I feel that your child is not progressing as expected.

Ask Questions: If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me at extension 107.  I will do my best to return your phone call the same day or I will contact you the next school day. 

Homework: You should expect that your child will have some type of homework each night of the week with the exception of Friday.  Aforementioned, your child's agenda will contain any homework assignments.  Generally homework in 4th grade takes about 40 minutes to complete.  Students should be able to do most assignments independently, but do help if it is completely necessary.  If you notice that your child is unable to do an assignment on his or her own, please send in a note or jot it down on the assignment itself.  I will contact you if your child is falling behind or turning in unacceptable work. 

Snack: All students may bring in a nutritious snack and bottle of water to school everyday.  We will have our "working snack" at the same time each day.  Please make sure your child brings home the bottle each day to be cleaned and re-filled. 

Birthday Treats: You may drop off a birthday treat to the main office.  Please also give me a heads up a day in advance if your child is planning to bring in a treat for his or her birthday.  I will make you aware of any food allergies in the future.  Also, please refrain from distributing party invitations in the class unless there is an invitation for every student.
