MVP of the Week The Most Valuable Player of the Week is a weekly student recognition program. It enables each student in the class to be our "most valuable" student. The MVP of the Week will begin in October. Being the MVP of the week comes with some special privileges.
Monday: The MVP will decorate a bulletin board in class with pictures. They sits in a roll-y chair for the whole week.
Tuesday: The MVP brings in their favorite book or one they are currently reading. They will give a book talk to the class explaining why they love the book so much and have the option to read aloud a short passage of their choice.
*Wednesday: Parents will send a sealed envelope with their child the week that they are the MVP. Parent(s)/Guardians will be asked to write a letter to the class telling us how special your child is to you. Send the letter in a sealed envelope to school with your child, and I will read the letter to the class at class meeting. The content of the letter is up to you, but you may want to choose from the following ideas: Describe special or funny stories about your child for the class to hear, write a silly or serious poem about your child, tell us some neat things we may not know about your child, send silly or special pictures with a letter describing the pictures, or write a short story with your child as the main character. (A special thanks to Mrs. Newingham of Troy, Michigan for the idea.) Thursday: The MVP receives a No Homework Pass!
Friday: The MVP chooses the Morning Meeting Activity.
