 MATH CLASSES

 The criteria for acceptance into the Algebra 1 program next year is as follows:

1. An average of 93 or better on chapter or unit tests in Pre-Algebra.

2. Sixteen (16) or better on the teacher rating scale.

3. A score of 250 or above on the NJ ASK 7 Statewide Assessment.

4. An 85 or better on the Algebra Readiness test given in June 2012.

Mrs. Ramsey’s PRE-ALGEBRA Classes


 Math help will be offered before school at 7:45.

It is your responsibility to see me if you are having any difficulty.

The Basic Supplies Needed:

1)1 ½ or 2 in binder

2)6 subject dividers

3) Jumbo Book Sock or cover

4)A supply of notebook paper

5)A supply of pencils with erasers (I also suggest mechanical pencils)

6)Colored Pencils

7)Scissors

8)Protractor

9)Correcting pens

10)Highlighters

11)Casio Scientific Calculator

12)Assignment pad issued by the school

 

*It is your responsibility to replenish your supplies as needed throughout the year.You will

Need 3 sharpened pencils on your desk every day.

 

ABSENCES

It is your responsibility to get the work and notes you missed. All notes are on my webpage under classroom calendar. Print the notes and bring them in the next morning.

 

HOMEWORK

All homework is posted on the white board and on my webpage under Classroom Calendar. All homework will be completed with work to receive full credit.. If you are absent, please hand in your work to be corrected the day you return. Late homework will be deducted 5 points per day.

 

Check ++= 100 perfect homework with all work shown

Check + = 90 most work shown but not all

Check = 85 some work shown but not all

Check - = 80 Completed a couple of problems with showing work

Check -- = 70 Homework completed no work shown

 

 

 

 

GRADING POLICY

Tests are 50% of your grade. If you get an 84 or below, I will allow you to make test corrections on a separate sheet of paper with the correct work shown. You must return your corrections the day after you get your test back. The low test grade and your correction grade will be averaged together for a new grade.

Projects will be 20 % of your grade.

Homework/Participation is 20% of your grade. Quizzes are 10 %.
